THERESIAN FOUNDATION |
Dear Theresian Sisters and Circle of Supporters:
Welcome to the new Theresians International website! On behalf of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, I greet you with a big, cheerful hello from Texas. Thanks for the time and effort you’ve taken to navigate the Foundation pages. It’s here you’ll discover that the Theresian Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation whose sole objective is to generate funds that help support the mission and ministry of Theresians worldwide.
The Theresian Foundation was established as an outgrowth of an endowment fund created in the name of our founder Monsignor Elwood C. Voss. Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has invested its funds with Christian Brothers Investment Services. This firm has a long history of providing professional, socially responsible investments for the Catholic Church and its related organizations, convents, schools, and hospitals. Each year a pre-determined percentage of the interest and dividends produced by our investments are disbursed to Theresians International to help fund their annual operating budget.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of seven members who come from all walks of life. Each belongs to a Theresian community, and this year we hail from Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana and Texas. We have all served in either national or international Theresian leadership positions, and we commit to sitting on the Board for a three-year term which can be extended twice. We strive to be faith-filled stewards of the Foundation to ensure the financial stability and expansion of Theresians International. To us, it’s truly a matter of desiring to share the gift of Theresians with more and more women around the world.
2011 is an especially joyous year for Theresians as we celebrate our golden anniversary of “Women supporting women, reaching out through Gospel values.” The donations made by Theresians and friends of Theresians to the Foundation have been a vital part of TI’s 50-year history and guarantee the continuation of this organization for a long time into the future. Today, Theresians and their supporters can contribute to the Foundation by means of the Celebrate Life Cards; with a Woman (or Women) of Vision Recognition donation; through purchase of a TI pin or a new silver Five Dimensions bracelet; via outright gifts; as a provision in a will; or a bequest from estate planning. We are mindful of the numerous demands upon the money earmarked for charity in your personal finances. Thank you for saying yes again and again to the Theresian Foundation. For your past generosity and thoughtfulness, we express our most sincere gratitude and appreciation and assure you that no contribution is taken for granted. We humbly request your ongoing support for this organization which has made a difference in the lives of so many women. Members from existing communities and the new communities in formation benefit from every contribution made to the Foundation.
Please continue surfing our website to learn more about the Foundation and Theresians International. It’s a goldmine of information and inspiration.
May you be blessed in abundance for your love and support of Theresians. I know the Little Flower has a shower of roses to bestow upon you and your loved ones as you journey closer to the Lord.
With the love and spirit of St. Thérèse of Lisieux,
Rebecca Herndon Chair, Theresian Foundation, Inc.
