Patricia Mullen was the first woman to serve as Executive Director of Theresians. Having worked with founder, Msgr. Elwood Voss from 1968, Patricia Mullen played a significant role in helping to form Theresians into the contemporary Christian/Catholic organization that it is today. The Vatican II documents that called every baptized Catholic to a deeper understanding of their vocation was the important emphasis that Patricia Mullen brought to the newly forming Theresian communities around the U.S.A. and the world. She empowered women to a deeper understanding of their gifts and contributions to the Church and to the world. Patricia Mullen served as International Executive Director of Theresians from 1979 until 1990. Her span of service to Theresians was twenty-two years. In 1979 Patricia joined Sisters for Christian Community, a non-canonical community of over 500 women, ministering throughout the world. Patricia now resides in Phoenix, Arizona and continues in a ministry of teaching and with her Theresian sisters.
